The WingScapes Bird Cam is a cool little gadget for your yard--it's a motion sensitive camera to get photos and video of birds while visiting your feeding station. The cool part about this camera is that it has an infrared sensor so it gets photos of warm blood animals--not your feeder blowing in the wind back and forth. You can set it to a time lapse, so if you want to get photos of your plants growing, you could do that too. I like using the camera when the daylight hours are short or if I'm busy, it gives me a chance to see what's at the feeder that I may not know about. These types of cameras are so fun because you can see interactions of birds fighting, warblers sneaking a bite of suet in the spring, baby birds learning to leave a bird house, or to discover a surprise visitor to your feeding station (I once got a photo of a one legged grackle feeding young and a woodchuck I had no idea was there). The camera can be set to photos or videos, you can adjust the sensitivity and the size of photos. You can also adjust the setting for close up photos or from further away. It also turns off at night so if you want to leave it out for several days, you can. It's completely weather proof and my camera has even survived a fall from my second story apartment window onto the dirt below (I wouldn't recommend that, but the camera can take a beating). It runs on four D batteries, but they last a long time in the camera. It also uses an SD Card to store photos. I often set mine on the ground or on a tray, but will use an inexpensive tripod to aim it at feeders. You can also purchase an arm to attach it to most bird feeder poles.
